Jaci Foster

fine artist & maker

Jaci’s work explores the concept of home; based firmly on the notion that our homes provide a narrative both for the lives we lead now and for our hopes and desires for the future. Initiating from a body of work revolving around fairytales, the concept of the ‘happy-ever-after’ ending has led to an exploration of the way in which our homes reflect our identities and how this can be manipulated, deliberately or otherwise, to produce our own ‘fairytale castles’.

Working in a variety of media her work is always based on stories, both individual narratives and generic stories from childhood, familiar motifs that perhaps make us question what part our childhood has played in what we have become.

Born in Edinburgh, Jaci now lives on a working farm in Hampshire.
